How we work in the territories and with Indigenous-owned organizations.

Delta Telematics designs integration and AI work for the connectivity, procurement, and sovereignty realities of the Canadian North — and for Indigenous-owned organizations across Canada that require operational control of the systems serving their communities. Engineering happens at our Fredericton office; deployments happen on site. Our defaults assume intermittent links, on-site delivery, and IP that stays where it belongs.

Northern infrastructure does not look like Toronto's. The link to the rest of the country can be Starlink, microwave, or — in the most remote sites — a single satellite uplink shared across an entire town. Software that assumes a reliable round-trip to a US-East data centre fails the first time the wind shifts. Our integration patterns are offline-first by default: local state, queue-and-replay sync, idempotent retries, no synchronous calls on the critical path.

The procurement reality is also different. Anchor institutions — the territorial government, the regional health authority, the housing corporation — buy under different rules than southern provinces. Indigenous-owned primes and joint ventures are increasingly the right vehicle. We sub-contract where that's the right structure, and we build the systems so the IP and operational control end up where the community wants them, not in our cloud. When an engagement requires us to be externally registered in a territory, we register externally; the head office stays in New Brunswick.

On-site delivery is part of the work. Installation, training, integration cutovers — these happen in the building, not over Zoom. We budget for travel and we don't bill it as a surprise.

Where we typically engage

Four problems we solve in the North.

01 · Offline-first integrations

Systems that work when the satellite link is down.

Local-first state, queue-and-replay sync, idempotent retries. Field workers carry on; data reconciles when the link comes back.

02 · Anchor-institution AI

AI deployed inside a territorial authority's tenant — under the authority's governance.

Frontier-model assistance with audit trail per query. We deploy the model where the data lives. Nothing crosses the perimeter without explicit policy.

03 · On-site sovereign deployment

A single Odysseus box that replaces a rack of vendor gear and a foreign cloud subscription.

For organizations that need to run their own infrastructure without a heavyweight orchestration operator. We install, hand off, and stay on call for the long support horizon.

04 · Subcontracting under Indigenous primes

Engineering capacity for Indigenous-owned firms taking on integration work.

We work as a subcontracted technical team, with the prime owning the customer relationship and the resulting IP. Structure aligns with PSIB and provincial procurement frameworks.

For Northern operators

We design for your constraints. We deploy on your floor.

Send us the project. We'll tell you whether we're the right fit, what it takes, and what it costs. If we're not the right fit we'll point you at someone who is.
